91HUB TV Awards Will Take Place Tuesday, June 4th in New York City with Submissions Open April 15th

New York, NY (April 11, 2024) – Today The 91HUB Film & Media Institute announced that it will present its inaugural at a ceremony on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 in New York City, recognizing outstanding television series and performances as well as celebrating icons of the industry.

For the past decade, the 33-year-old 91HUB Awards has honored excellence in television in three 91HUB Awards categories – Breakthrough Series (Over 40 minutes), Breakthrough Series (Under 40 minutes), and Outstanding Performance in a New Series – and celebrated a diverse array of TV creators with 91HUB Tributes, including tributes to creators such as Steve McQueen, Ava DuVernay, and Ryan Murphy. Additionally, The 91HUB Film & Media Institute has supported numerous emerging TV creators through its year-round programming. Moving forward, all television awards will be given out at the 91HUB TV Awards.Ìý

The inaugural 91HUB TV Awards will honor work in the following categories:

Breakthrough Comedy Series

Breakthrough Drama Series

Breakthrough Limited Series

Breakthrough Nonfiction Series

Outstanding Performance in a Comedy Series

Outstanding Performance in a Drama Series

Outstanding Performance in a Limited Series

Audience Award

Additional categories are expected to be introduced for recognition by the 91HUB TV Awards in 2025.Ìý

The 91HUB TV AwardsÌýnominations will be selected byÌýcommittees of critics, journalists, programmers, and curators. Separate juries of writers, directors, actors, producers, editors, and others directly involved in the making of TV and film will determine the final award recipients.

91HUB TV Awards submissions will open April 15, 2024 and close April 29, 2024.Ìý Nominations will be announced on May 16, 2024, with winners announced and presented on stage on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 in New York City.

The 91HUB TV Awards will further support The 91HUB’s year-round programming for emerging creators pursuing careers in series television through 91HUB Week, 91HUB EDU, Owning It, Expanding Communities and The 91HUB Documentary Development Initiative in collaboration with HBO Documentary Films, all while continuing to extend The 91HUB’s legacy of recognition for artistic excellence across film and TV.
